One Drop YoYos Official News

I also wanted one of the splashes but missed out on both - I think the Hydrangea (teal splash) sold out within 60 seconds. In the end I got one of the nqp clear ones, which I’m super happy with. Now I’m really looking forward to read some first impressions on it plays since I have to wait some time till this thing find its way over the big pond.

I’m not tryna make one of those long reviews, I do prefer the 6061 Rainier, boosted won’t spin as long as the 6061, still very fun to play with

That seems odd since the Boosted is said to have more rim weight.

It doesn’t spin out right away, but definitely doesn’t spin as long as my regular rainier

Maybe try bearing swap, might not be broken in yet?

Any recommendations for concaves on onedrops? Although I am in love with one drops flat 10 ball

are you asking which one you should use, or IF you should use them?

Personally, I feel the OD flat is part of one drop charm, but fwiw OT makes a really good KonKave licensed by Dif-E-Yo, and also CLYW x iYoYo Pixels also play well in them, both available here on YYE. Also looks like original Dif-e-Yo Konkaves are back in stock as well, they have 140 of them lol

I was under the impression that CLYW yo-yos ship with Pixels, but I don’t think they do, they come with center tracs, so I don’t know that I’ve actually tried one now.

I have heard Tasmanian Twisters are also very good.

I can also recommend G2’s Ripper, I got one in my Kamuraiju, I now run it in my Minitee. That bearing is a V-ish concave with a centering groove.

Atmos makes some solid concave bearings (I don’t remember the exact shape, but :man_shrugging: ) I have also heard good things about the bulk concave from Hollywood Modern yoyos, but have yet to try any for myself!

Honestly try the new grooved crucial 3.0 flat bearing. I will be purchasing them for all my onedrops, absolutely love them. Just tossed one in my nickel kuntosh and it feels like a flat bearing minus the tilting and it keeps the string centered perfectly.

Which

It’s between dif e yo or crucial for me atm

You could just test with the same bearing from your Rainier. If that solves the problem, you can either clean the Boosted’s bearing or replace it with another flat 10 ball.

I’ll give her a try, I got a pack of fresh flats, and I’ll let yall know if there’s a difference

Personally, Throwback’s VIP bearing has been phenomenal for me. To my knowledge it’s the most shallow true string centering bearing out there, so not all of the charm and feel of a flat is lost when playing with it. But take it with a grain of salt as I only have a Terrarian and the only other bearing I’ve used in it outside of stock is a CT. Just my two cents

I’ll be interested to hear about your results. Ive been a litte on the fence about buying the Boosted, when i just purchased the OG.

Those bearings are also super fun! A good alternative to the classic flats for sure! I was rocking one in my summit and have yet to throw it onto something else :upside_down_face:
