Once in a lifetime yo-yo collection for sale, California locals only

And here’s hoping you don’t hold your breathe waiting for me to sell them off Brian😉

On second thought… I will get the ball rolling by selling the: Bolts, the Weekenders and the Executive…

How does the transfer of a collection become a precursor to a sale?

I don’t see any connection…

PS… of course that sale will most likely be delayed, also. Since I still have my OG Bolt🤓

I was telling Jeff I hope he sticks around in our community because it’s been nice getting to know him. Not sure what you mean about selling Bolts and stuff, but I’m really confused by it.

Well, Doc… it’s your wording intertwined with the timeline of events that is somewhat confusing.

First, you did not specify you were talking directly to ‘Jeff’.

Since they ‘already found a new home days before you posted you hope they find a great home.

And… stating you hope ‘you’ll stick around’ once you sell these off<< could have been directed towards me because I already had/have possession of the collection days before you posted🤔

Any possible confusion could have been easily avoided by your just identifying ‘who’ you were addressing.

…You could have been speaking to either one of us…

But your dialogue was/is several days after the fact.

Apologies for puzzling you, my friend.

…You kinda puzzled me too.

I don’t think you read the whole thread. They sold already, Mo bought them.

Somebody’s grumpy this morning…

I don’t read it that way at all. Doc Pop’s statement was very unclear in the context of the thread, almost as if he only read the first post and nothing else. I don’t see how Mo clarifying with simple statements devoid of any negativity is grumpy.

It’s all good @DocPop … I still love yo-yos, I just don’t need 500 of them! And take your time @yoyodoc there’s no hurry here. You’re a champ for driving 400 miles (each way) and making this happen. Much respect. :trophy:

(As a coda, I’ll also add that anyone who is getting antsy about “identification” PLEASE REFER TO THE DETAILED PHOTOS IN THE FIRST POST.)

That would make a really interesting alloy!

Can someone give me a tldr of what happened with this?

Dude has huge collection but doesnt want to sell piece by piece wants someone to drive upto him and buy the whole collection for 2500$ which is like 5$/yoyo approx.
Folks say maybe go to a museum but in the end dude decides to sell to a well known member of the community. The well known member of the community then drives 800 miles to get the entire collection.
The buyer now has possession of the massive collection and other people want updates on what he is planning to do with it.
The buyer says he might sell a few when he has time but is pretty busy with life stuff and first needs to catalogue all yoyos(which he might need help with)
Thats it pretty much!

Sorry to hear about all the chaos you’re dealing with. So glad you ended up with this stuff, can’t think of anyone more qualified or trustworthy to handle it.

@yoyodoc I agree with others that you should have felt obligated to share your story with us, but I’m glad you did. Best wishes with everything.

Remember when we weren’t allowed to discuss in the BST? @codinghorror was instrumental in changing that, and now he’s got a mega thread in the here!

Haven’t read through the whole thread, but I’m in San Francisco and would have loved to been able to grab these…
