The Oblivion is the long-awaited signature yo-yo of Chandler Steele — a tri-material design built to match the demands of his evolving freestyle style. This is the yo-yo that carried Chandler to 2nd at PNWR, 2nd at NER, 1st at MWR, 2nd at US Nationals, and 3rd at the World Yo-Yo Contest.
The design process began after Chandler’s 2024 Nationals performance, where the goal was clear: create a yo-yo that could handle his dynamic, high-risk tricks while protecting him from the injuries he’d sustained over years of pushing his limits. Starting with the Devotion as a foundation, UNPRLD refined the profile to be wider and more angular, while integrating a plastic ring for softer impacts. The design also features the Flashback’s signature bump near the bearing seat, giving Chandler the extra stability he needed for his fearless horizontal play.
After months of prototyping, the perfect balance was found in the second version — with rim weight shifted outward for more power, longer spin, and effortless stability. Chandler described it best: “It felt like cheating.” Even after testing alternative bimetal and TiSS prototypes, nothing matched the unique control, comfort, and performance of this tri-material design.
The result is the Oblivion: powerful, stable, and uncompromising in performance. It is more than Chandler Steele’s signature yo-yo — it’s the culmination of a journey that transformed his competitive career and helped redefine what a modern contest yo-yo can be.
