This was only my second contest, so I don’t know if he’s done many others, but I thought it was cool that Brett Outchcunis (aka “Ooch”) was the MC. Ooch did a lot of commercials and videos for Yomega and was heavily involved with yoyoing in the 90’s. I knew he sounded/looked familiar! I wasn’t there at the beginning, so I didn’t realize. I rewatched some tricks on my Yomega DVD from 2005 when I restarted learning yo-yo last year.
Man, seeing everyone throwing while just watching the competition made me feel like I need to up my game.

I was definitely outclassed in many respects, but a great time was had by all, good vibes all around! Makes me want to take making it to club more seriously, that drive is tough tho lol
When I talked to tyler yesterday he was saying he wants to gauge interest on doing gatherings in philly on the off weeks for tiki tiki, which would be really nice!
I did sports but fumbled but him congratulating me on having the guts to preform has really made wanna really try harder

Yeah I was also talking to him about the same thing, Philly is prime for another club that meets in the city, the big thing is who wants to be the “anchor guy”. Gotta always have that one dude who is ALWAYS there, even if one other dude shows up, and well… we’re all busy lol

An old college friend told me my goal “should be to lose your first yoyo contest” as a way of encouraging me and reminding me that it isn’t a small thing to put yourself out there and try (which I have yet to do myself.)
