I think it was about 18 months.
Edit: yeah that’s what Vu said in the vid. A metric ton of work went into what became this release. I’m honestly pretty excited to see him and his team compete with these.

Hmmm. If that’s how much the weight scales to a modern comp yoyo and that truly is the minimum viable weight possible, I wonder how useful the whole thing is for the average player.
The Hendiatris is much smaller than these Offsets, but it is roughly the same size and weight as the original yyfr Hummingbird. So the Hendiatris design seems like it could scale to larger dimensions without gaining so much weight.
Maybe the Offsets are heavy on purpose(?)
Maybe they decided that it could carry the extra weight better, so they added it for extra power/stability(?)

Either that or size D main + size A sides, which I’d argue would objectively optimal if not for the overall disappointing supply quality of those sizes. The size B/size C combo of the Hendiatris is lightweight enough and much easier to get hold of, but I imagine would lose bigtime on maintainability compared to A/D. On the Hendiatris in just a few twists you start seeing the razor thin size B inner track eating away the bearing seats. This in fact is the main reason I didn’t feel its ready for a second run.
At 60mm, sub 70g is probably a stretch goal even with optimal everything. ~72 is more realistic. The prototype on the right is 57x48x66g with walls as thin as you get with 7068, just like the original Hendiatris.
