The latest release from Amplified Return Tops is a beautiful new mono-metal design - The Ad-Lib!
From Amplified: Work began on the Ad-lib some time ago during the winter of 2018. The initial idea was to revisit our first model, the Shout, while avoiding making a sequel. To do this, we widened the Shout’s profile shape and fused it with some of our more contemporary design elements. When the first set of prototypes arrived, it was an instant hit with the team, but the Ad-lib still needed a few tweaks.
From the prototype to the second iteration, we drastically shrunk the wall thickness to reposition weight further to the rim and added design elements from the Juke to offset the increase in cup size. The result is quite possibly our most unique return top to date. It’s expanded catch zone makes intricate catches and body maneuvers more manageable and its weight distribution makes the Ad-lib easy to control even at breakneck speeds. Ultimately, the Ad-lib represents an exciting refresh for the model that started our yo-yo journey!
