My next Responsive String Tricks Yo

So I’ve been looking at perhaps getting one of Doc’s “The Weekender”.

I’m looking for a responsive throw that I can carry around back and forth to work and work on my string tricks (still learning). Maybe a jack of all trades, master of none that will do a little bit of everything.

Was curious what you all would recommend???

(I like having options plus I like to pull the greater communities expansive knowledge)

Let me know what you all think.

Thank you all in advance for your input/knowledge in helping me make an “informed” decision!!

FH1 is my rec. Never tried a weekender so I don’t know but cannot really go wrong w FH1 like beloved by all yoyo players for a reason.

I love my Weekender (the newer style with the FS center. That said, it is a small bearing. In my hands it is capable of “most” of my basic string tricks BUT not a TON of spin time - so no long combos are long string tricks. Not sure how new and/or good you are at throwing - so wanted to toss that out there.

Another to consider as well is the Thing - there’s a Doc Pop Version. It’s a half-spec C. It’s also a poly yoyo instead of a metal yoyo if that matters you.

Both are great throws - you can’t go wrong with either in my opinion. I’m sure there are plenty of other options out there as well - but I love those 2.

My Workhorse is a jack of all, master of none as well - but those aren’t readily available - you would have to search BSTs, etc.

I’m also carrying around a Duncan Freehand One which is a blast.

A good freehand one setup for responsive might not be a bad option too. I didn’t think of that. Inexpensive and easy to replace!

Weekenders and PLTPS are in stock @DocPop 's shop, so thats an easy choice.

If you like hunting the BST I would like to give the YYF Confusion a recommendation, there were a few runs and you could probably find a cheap one these days.
