Ah okay I was intentionally keeping it small. So I’ll try it a bit bigger.
Okay, making some nice progress tonight for sure!
Thanks again @Imdavid122 for the video!!
I’m starting to land in the chopstick mount and I’ve gotten all the way up to the gyroscopic flop several times now.
The issues I’m now running into, is I don’t have enough string to get my hand into the loop and do a gyro without the yo hitting my fingers/hand.
So I gotta figure that bit out.
But I’m getting there! Tonight I had a lot of fun working on this one!
I think I might make a video tomorrow.
Also…the whole goal of this Trick-A-Week is to have fun…and to hopefully be a better yoer this week, then we were last.
And so far, both of those are holding true for me.
I’ve had a ton of fun these past 4 weeks with this. There’s been a lot of frustration…but frustration in a challenging, fun sort of way.
And I absolutely feel like I’m more skilled now, then I was 4 weeks ago.
Really love this Trick-A-Week challenge.
Since we’re working on the basic thumb mount chopstick trick…here’s a cool way to transition from that, into a double or nothing…this could be a really cool element to add some spice and flare to other tricks and combos!
I’m yellow dammit, why is chopsticks so hard. I’m still working on these. Haven’t even got as far as Duck in Mexican Duck Pond yet.
haha to be fair…you’ve been really busy with the Holidays!
I’m still having difficulties too!
But…I did an 'almost" Duck Pond last night! Took me a couple of attempts to get into the chopstick mount, but from there I completed the rest of the trick including a gyro!
You have been killing it this week @twitch77
I’m so glad you picked this trick this week though. I have been delaying and putting off learning chopsticks for a while and this is just the motivation I needed to actually get on it!
I’ll be joining in on the fun once figure 8 is being tackled
Twitch, this is like @chaosgow’s signature trick.
If he can do it, your belly can handle it
Welcome to the party @Damb
It’s the ultimate trick. I love 8s.
I got a belly too. You can do it, it just takes some practice. I actually graze the inside of my throw arm more than anything else
Man…I had one of those nights last night.
I could no longer yo-yo.
lol >.<’
Any progress I was making with this chopstick trick was all gone. Couldn’t even land it in the mount for the life of me.
Couldn’t land a Kamikaze.
Couldn’t land one of my combos.
Superflow was killing me.
Heck…I was even having a hard time with the Jason Lee Sling! I’ve been having no issues with that one!
It really sucked…but at least I didn’t give up. I got my full practice session in for the day.
And I’ve read from other much more experienced players…that almost everyone has these days. It just happens even to the very best.
So…hopefully it was just a 1 day thing.
At this point though…I probably can’t even walk the damn dog! >.<’
Hm so what’s new @twitch77😂
Hey now! I’m a very sensitive person!!
lmao
What are some tips on not getting the yo to bind up and smack me in the knuckles on Superflow @MoonageMin or anyone else who may read this?
It’s really starting to frustrate me. Maybe I should shoot a video so maybe someone can see stuff I’m doing wrong.
I try to keep my hands close…but man it binds up WAY too often.
It’s hard as heck to make any progress or to practice because I’m super stuck on this part.
Any tips?
Does this happen on all your yoyos?
So try and maintain pressure on the string so it doesn’t slack up. And whenever you throw the yoyo in a circle especially the bit from after cutting into the string and over both hands try and do it harder? Doesn’t have to be super fast but it needs like centrifugal force applied to it. Like as if you are swinging a bucket with water in it. The slower and after your throw over your hands the more snaggy it is.
Maybe people better than me can give you more tips.
Yeah…I was even using my Endgame last night…which has a pretty wide gap and is a bit slippy on binds.
Thanks! I’ll start paying more attention to this…see if it helps!
I have no more likes left to give. So have a
Yeah I think it’s similar to going out of double or nothing to a sub mount. It’s a bit like going into a bind so you need to power through it and don’t stop until the yoyo is swinging past 6 o’clock
