Lucky or mystery bag?

Who do you think offers the best lucky or mystery bag offerings each year?

I mean I think yye bags are the most likely to be something ā€œgoodā€. Generally I think the yyfr bags have been the best value per dollar spent every year but that doesn’t mean they are the best enjoyed.

I’m a fan of the W1LD ones as, speaking personally, W1LD hardly ever misses on their designs for me so I’m basically guaranteed yo-yos I’ll enjoy. And they’re great value too (if they’re the same as last year it’ll be 1 ti, 3 bimetals and two monos, of which at least two will be new designs). Got one coming in the mail I’m excited for.

That said, I think the ā€œsafestā€ (i.e. least gambl-y/closest to knowing what you’ll get) are the New Year boxes a certain big Japanese store whose name I won’t mention. Since you at least get some idea of what the yo-yos will be with a partial look at their shape. Plus they’re all new releases so it’s fun to speculate about them instead of getting dead stock, which is the case for most/nearly all lucky boxes.

Aside from those two specifically though, I don’t think I’d ever get a mystery/lucky box personally. Too much uncertainty for my tastes.

Had to look up what you were talking about because I’ve never heard of that. Wow, those Lucky Bags are expensive but you get a lot of stuff.

YoyoFriends for me…this year’s mystery boxes were insanely good!

Got my first mystery bag from YYE last year and I was SO rapt! It’s actually such a sweet deal for someone getting back into the hobby, playing things you otherwise wouldn’t have bought for yourself. This coming year I’m def putting some money aside to pick up bags from a few places lol

Oh yeah, that certain store in Japan did a amazing release which I seen from the customers on X. 2026 is going to be very interesting yiesr where yoyo brands want to go with expanded sizes. I actually thinking smaller size yoyos will be harder to sell for online stores or have to be priced lower. Overstocking several year old yoyos because the trends in the yoyo market have changed must be a problem. It’s something I been thinking about I’m willing to give store owners a conversation over. I’m sure yoyo designers are like why bother with these specs when buyers are looking for larger yoyos.
