Is it a good idea to state how much you want to spend before a deal is offered?
Just saying…
Sometimes it’s a good idea because it may motivate someone to move something that’s sitting in a case in a closet. Sometimes people have issues with “valuing” their throws - so in that instance this gives a baseline value to work with. Just my 2cents

I like to go ahead and offer what I’m willing to pay for one. It usually allows people to see that I am serious about buying one and if I’m going to pay it anyways I feel comfortable showing it upfront.

As Don McLean sang in one of his songs, “A horse is worth what you pay for it.”
