Yeah the 3ds and wiiU eshop are closing and a lot of cool gems are going with it. Or just games u can get for a reasonable amount verse buying for eBay prices

Wii U homebrew hasn’t required a DS eshop title to set up for quite some time now, so if you’re planning on setting up homebrew (which I’d highly recommend), the eshop going offline doesn’t matter.

The Wii U E shop closes on the end of march. This means you can’t buy any games after march 27.

The fact most people are scared to homebrew their crap and give loads to corporations is quite sad… it would be different if it was actually hard to do…

How do you do homebrew? I’ve never done that before does it risk bricking the Wii ?
There’s always a risk when modifying systems. But it’s extremely rare if you can follow instructions properly, and I’d say the benefits heavily outweigh the very minor risk. Up to you to decide if it’s worth it for you. Wii U Hacks Guide

I remember the homebrew for the OG Wii but this is the first time I have thought about it since I was like 9 or so when my dad homebrewed it.
I’m talking about 3ds… idk how to hack a wii but 3ds is easy and worth it
