Looking for advice on a plastic yo-yo to bang around

OK, letโ€™s say that.

When I first dipped a tentative toe into the modern waters I picked up a YYFactory Arrow Elite. Plastic, darn near indestructible, comes with both responsive and unresponsive bearings, has fingerspin caps. Sounds like it ticks all your boxes. Oh, and under $20 so if it ainโ€™t yer thang you can give it to someone and make their day.

OP also said theyโ€™d prefer one thatโ€™s machined, not molded

Yeah I have a molded one now and I donโ€™t really like it. I feel like itโ€™s just too cheap and plasticky. It feels like a toy.

I want to get a plastic that just feels like premium

I donโ€™t like the feeling of molded polycarbonate yo-yos either. If you like everything else about the yo-yo, sandpaper can improve the surface texture.

e.g.

iYoyo Infinity X looks super nice. Personally I prefer POM/Delrin.

1 more vote for the speedaholic xx it is my favorite plastic and perfect to take a beating and keep playing

Another option is the Dale Tubat Intro. 3D printed and comes with a narrow and full sized bearing.

I agree with @Tempura about preferring POM/Delrin. Some people dislike the texture. I actually think that machined PC has the highest quality feel and grind performance. But I really like POMs distinctive feel.

Dale Tubatโ€™s 3D prints (and probably others) have yet another texture that someone could prefer or dislike. I have been impressed by both the Intro and Rival.

Can you link me something thatโ€™s POM / delrin I donโ€™t know what yo-yos use that material

The DIY is one, but in general it is not as common on lower cost/beginner models.

Some that are currently available on YYE:

iNFiNiTY X yo-yo by iYoYo (looks promising)
Apollo YoYo by Dressel Designs (I have this)

Apollo

They both looks really nice but there is one issue with the Apollo. It doesnโ€™t have the finger spin. To finger spin is really something I really really wanted In my next throw. The speed xx I really like I found one that is not on the website. Itโ€™s like an all white which looks really sweet. Itโ€™s like $31 shipped.

I kind of like this one a lot to be honest with you but itโ€™s not responsive like I wanted but itโ€™s okay.

That white Speedaholic XX looks really cool.

Yeah I was just looking around for different things so every yo-yo that you guys told me about I went to different sites to see if I can find different designs and I happen to come across this white one that really piqued my interest I could get it in 1 to 2 days if I pay you like 11 bucks more but I have a $4 discount which helps trying to get something quick. Iโ€™m going on vacation soon so I need a yo-yo I can get really fast to bring with me.

I was really hoping that they had some on Amazon, but the only thing that they have really on Amazon is the magic. Yo-yo V10 V12 v13 and some cheat codes.

You just need a shorter axle and half spec bearing for responsive by the way.

Do it lol

Nice! Itโ€™s definitely a color I really like. I wish they kind of sold it on this website but I got to get it on yo-yo Sam

Iโ€™m a bit of a speedaholic fan. I may be biased, but you really canโ€™t wrong with the xx. Plays way better than it should.

I am just mirroring that Speedaholic and Shooting Star are both the most common suggestions. And both great choices.
