That kid who sees ghost. You know “i see dead peeps”
This kid

It’s A1 like the steak sauce right ?
According to Linda…
We are officially moving to an “AI First” requirement. All code, absolutely everything is supposed to be AI generated within the next year. Developers will fix issues if they occur and approve code. No code will be handwritten, not just your unit tests, literally everything.
Surely a ticket to untold riches, what could go wrong?
What a phenomenal and bombastic way to throw a company down the toilet
C-Suite over there must be making every decision based on the YOLO principle
Well I think I could take a fairly sure bet on poly market on the next major internet outage being the company you work out this year ![]()
Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. The tech debt will be crazy
That’s future engineers problems
More tech debt than a bank can handle
The code base is going to be more debt then credit
What type of development do you do that will allow for anything close to 100% AI generated code? I develop custom business applications. I just spent two days debugging some garbage generated from AI. The applications we write are very complex. I cannot imagine trying to write something like that using the current AI.
I could kind of see it if you are writing basic web-sites that are all serving static content; but a real application seems beyond the capabilities of the AI I am using (Copilot).
A couple examples.
A website that uses federated login, based on docker images running in AWS fargate. Connects with other AWS resources and databases and serves content and takes user input.
A vpn server solution based on openvpn, running in ecs, network load balancer, suite of tools to manage the servers, etc.
All the infra in CDK.
There is some new AI tool created that internally that is allegedly capable of doing this. You write up design doc, user stories, diagram, etc and submit it all to the AI and it does it all. I haven’t tried it yet, but it sounds like a pipe dream.
I just can’t wait until they replace doctors with AI.
“You’re right! That was a lethal dose. Here’s an updated dosage.”
Or; ‘turn your head and cough’.
Honestly, the 100% AI goal is a pipe dream and this is probably a form of soft layoffs. Just another way to chase out developers unwilling to embrace AI. Don’t gotta pay out severance if you drive them to leave.
You thought doc’s hands were cold before? Bad news…
