Let’s talk 3D printing

The amount of filament left on the roll after printing the 6x6 :joy:

Now to start filling it with 3d printed yo-yos.

What can I say, I’m really good at hyper fixating.

Those square ones fit perfectly, you should print enough of them to go in every hole :joy:

It was really satisfying putting the square ones in.

How will you get them out?

I left string dangling out there to pull on.

This is the Firefly. A printed MR85 Butterfly. I had a problem with shrinkage on this filament so I lazily scaled up the whole thing, and it’s a tiny bit over the size of the Butterfly. It features a silicone response and uses a spacer between the bearing and the axle like the Kasm.

You won the game of filament chicken!

This is incredible. Thanks for sharing. You could 3d print a couple of little hooks to get the yoyos back out again

Does anybody have a 3D File i could use to print a yoyo? Preferably just a one piece print. Im testing out printing some fixed axle yoyos.

The Tomato Soup is pretty nice for being just printed overnight. It is my first real fixed axle and is really nice. I’ll update later

This is my original “Hobby Horse” which was a take on the Spinworthy “Dead ‘Orse” in that I used the specs and completely forgot what the profile looked like and just winged it. This was one of my favorite players and it broke in a way where it lost some axle hole plastic and I had thought it unfixable. It sat for some time but I pulled it out and managed to make a repair very slowly, gluing one half at a time and spending extra effort on centering the axle.

Do you still have a file of it? I’d like to try my hand at it.

I sell some of my prints so I don’t typically hand out the files.

I’ve been thinking of trying to make some CWs at my local library and then maybe moving up from there
