Thank you that does make sense. I’ll practice making it hook consistently first and then try and do the same while catching the string in two stages instead of trying to learn everything in one go :slight_smile:

I managed to land two hooks so far (out of like over 10 hours of tries no joke). But both time I couldn’t catch the string.

But then again I don’t hook consistently with this movement like I do with other simpler hooks as it is so maybe I need to work on that first as you have suggested.

This is the furthest I got on this so far.

I am still trying to figure this out just like you so take everything I say with a grain of salt, but I believe that when you hook the string with your TH it will drastically change the way your loop opens up. So you are definitely going to want to get that down first.

That’s sorta what I did, I had the string on my TH ring finger, but it slipped off when I landed the hook, or just before maybe. I think getting the grab down first is what I need to do.

Edit: also, maybe recording my attempts with my new black light might highlight what I’m doing wrong.

Yeah that’s the best one I could get on film. Try letting your NTH go partially under the yoyo during the whip. That helped me get more consistent. Also I don’t do it around my wrist. That was making my whip way too wide for me.

First one wasn’t quite right, you gotta do a bit more to get the final mount right before you start dropping strings. Take a closer look.

Second one was spot on though.

Yea I figured it out while playing around with the whip after I filmed. Ill refilm with the right ending mount and just replace the original vid once I upload it

Trick #2:

Haven’t figured out how to do the bind so I recorded this first, hope it still counts!
Even if it does, any tips on the bind? I can get the string into the gap but can’t get it to catch the response.
