since my SPEC bearing broke a few days ago, i’ve had to use my KK bearing, but i’ve been noticing whenever i twist the yo-yo to fix a knot, i hear a squeaking noise and some resistance likely coming from my bearing in contact with the yo yo. is this ok?

Yeah, its okay. It actually happens to mine on occasion. Your 888 and KK bearing are fine 
its spinning fine. sometimes its so smooth the silence creeps me out…im used to vibe.
