Yes…
That’s funny Devinchi is like my preferred video editor. To each their own though
Alot if people love it! And i have spent many many hours editing with it. BUT, i have to look up a tutorial for every single little basic thing and it’s just SO frustrating and not user friendly at all.
Maybe it’s just me, but i can and have figures out every single video editor on my own without tutorials. But not devinchi. Plus, it doesn’t accept my MiniDV footage so… never touching that editor again. I really want to love it because it’s so powerful but also makes me wanna tear my eyes out.
I’ve been in a similar spot with older camcorder footage and newer systems not playing nice. My workflow ended up being pretty much what you’re describing, capturing on a Windows machine using WinDV, then transferring files to a Mac for editing. I actually gave up on Resolve pretty quick too, it’s just too bloated for what I needed. Final Cut is nice if you’re fully in the Mac ecosystem, but I didn’t want the subscription trap or the price tag for something I do casually.
I started messing around with a few tools until I landed on one that worked with both my HD and SD footage decently. If you’re still open to trying different options, there are some solid options in the video editing software free category that aren’t as annoying as the paywall-heavy ones and still give decent export quality.
