Incredibly Looney Listings

Are they really their grandkids? Seems like a pretty common lie for sellers of fake goods.

All I’m saying is be cautious, I suppose.

they are NOT the original owner’s grandkids

They have claimed to be

Edit: that link helps a bunch. I wasn’t following that thread

What a shame… maybe someday I’ll get to try one of these “legendary” ProYos, but my god… I didn’t even pay that much for my dang jeep.

Screen shot, because eBay listings disappear after a while

It’s about time I guess. I knew the guy couldn’t hold out forever.

Now he’s willing to take offers on his titanium Mowl yoyo.

He was trying to get $3168 for it, but I guess nobody was able to figure out how to break their piggy banks to get their change out?

…… So……… He wants 3100 bucks for it but it’ll take less

And the yo-yo retails for $700.

Nah, I guess I’ll sit this one out🤓

Hot off the press

You can be the proud owner of a Superwide, valued at $5 on a good day, for $150!

It’s cool. Not $725 cool. But it’s cool.

There’s a few that are going for like $50 in the box, I think there’s a sealed one I saw for closer to $100 that I thought was crazy, and then there’s this one and several more for over $400, and loose ones are like $15 for a glowie, I paid less lol

Yeah I got one of the glowies with a box of other old yoyos for probably 20 bucks.

It’s like they don’t realize they’ve been mass produced for decades lmao. Absolutely insane!

It’s really not that far off. Sold mine for $90 in 2023.

The market is a little bit different in 2023 vs 2025…

We didn’t start a trade war that’s going to increase cost if good across the globe in 2023 for starters…

I hate when some use eBay as standard of pricing.

It is most time more than 2x real value for console games, collectibles, yo-yo, crt tv, etc

Some ps2 game $100 on ebay I get $40 at local used game store

EBay $200 dark magic 2, I get one $30 last month

To reason with somebody who decide their price based on eBay listing that has sit unsold for 4 months is impossible. So many arguments I have on Facebook marketplace with people!!!

Using eBay to determine value is fine, as long as you’re looking at sold comps to see what they are actually selling for. If you’re looking at listed comps, that doesn’t show you the value because anyone can list anything for any price.

I sure hope this scammer wasn’t stupid enough to use his real name.

I don’t think we can objectively claim that, at least not for the DM2. There hasn’t been one sold on here this month (I.e. since tariff changes). The closest comparison I can find looking at the forum BST is between a DM2 in 2023 ($35) and a DM1 in March ($40).

Thanks for the ‘like’, Glen…

I found a special one just for you. I say it’s special because you can buy this locally and save the cost of the shipping.

Now on a more serious note… I would in no way estimate that I even have had a single bright idea about how to accurately gauge the value of a yo-yo in dollars. I haven’t spent a lot of time studying values because I don’t buy yo-yos for the specific purpose of collecting. I’ve obviously over the years ended up with way more yo-yos than I thought I’d ever have. But I never bought them with any vision of them being worth more in the future.

That being understood, sometimes yo-yo and the prices people ask for them, do not align with the logical part of my thinking. But since I don’t think like a collector. And I have no desperate compulsion to pay through the nose for a specific yo-yo to complete part of a collection, anyways, before I get too deep in my theory of what and why, let me share this image as an example of something that may be worth a reasonable amount of money? I mean, considering all the old yo-yos I’ve seen over the years, this one actually looks pretty cool for what it is.

But the asking price did not filter through my built-in logic and reason app……. So here it is.

Aussie or American…. That is one serious chunk of change.
