I traded for a G5 and when I got it, it had a terrible paint job! What do I do??

Hi, so I traded one of my yo-yos for a G5 quite a while ago, but when I got the G5,… it was just a piece of messed up metal, meaning I was completely scammed. It was painted very terribly and it is SSSUUUPPPEEERRR responsive, and, simply, it just sucks… So, is there any way I can maybe fix it? What I mean by that is, can I fix the crappy paint job, and maybe the responsiveness? Please help me!!! Thank you so much!!!

Pics?

Sure, I’ll PM them to you, okay?

have you tried switching out the bearings? it’s possible the bearing just needs to be cleaned

actually, I have, it did spin longer, but let’s just say, it was so responsive that I got hit right above the eye because it came back up when I was in the middle of a trick. Thank you very much though.

You should post the pics here so we can all comment on it. What was the scammer’s username?

Here are a few pics, I will post more in just a minute.

Switch the pads put in Silicone.
Replace a bearing with a cleaned one Make sure its a DRY one.
Clean the BEARING Seat as Silicone could’ve gotten into the bearing seat.
Put a new string
Voila.
Of course
If needed get a new axle.
and Dont put the hubstacks/zstacks on yet.

I don’t have the z stacks anymore.

Okay thats good.
Just take off the hubstacks for some reason I put the Z-stacks on my 888 and it went respnonsive.
Do what I said.
If the pads look a bit craped out switch em out.
Put in one of your Unresponsive yoyo bearings
But before
Use some water and clean the bearing seat then Dry it off with a cloth.
Switch the axle if needed if it looks bent or stripped.
Voila its fixed.
of course if your that nervous I have a G5 for Trade/sale.

I really can’t tell much from the pics. It looks a little scuffed more than what I would call a crappy paint job. As for responsiveness, clean the bearing. Most response issues are due to the bearing having too much lube. The pads look ok from the pics. I’d leave them be.

Try it Jordan
If it works just Lock this thread.
Seems like your getting the same answers so that should work.

So what happened after you switched out your bearing?

Well, it spun longer, but it still is hecka responsive, I’m not sure if the axel is bent or something but if you look at the pic of both of the sides, you can tell the difference in color, because someone painted it black to try and cover up the ding marks. Do you know what I can do??? Thank you!!!

Well can you unscrew the axle out?

Is the paint only on the rims? If not it could be creating friction in the bearin seat (a glop is tubbing against it). If the paint is only on the rims you should try re-siliconing it as there may be a bit too much. If that doesn’t help, you should probably work on cleaning your bearings.

if the whole yoyo is painted, then that might be the problem. Like if the guy spray painted the whole thing, not just the rims but all of it, it could be the rough paint catching the string.

whats his user name? post it here.
