Been there done that. Anodize the yo-yo then dye it.
how do you anodize a yoyo?
what exactly is that?
ahaha
Oops I thanked your post instead of Jayyo’s. :o
what happened to him? whatever it was i feel so bad for his family
if you dye a dm is it ok to put the metal rims in it
Yes, you can put the entire Dark Magic into the dye solution.
thanks helped a lot i might do this in the future ;D
Obvious question I guess, but what is the approximate time frame to leave it in the water/acetone/dye solution? I tried doing this with the caps from an old Mosquito (scarlet dye over lime green plastic), and got very little dye uptake after 3 to 4 minutes. I stopped due to the warning about “melting” the yoyo. In the vid it looked like the dye started penetrating right away. Are we talking more like 10 or 15 minutes on average?
can u do this with a duncan mosquito?
Sure, you just have to take into consideration the base color of the YoYo will effect the outcome of the color of dye you are using.
Bump on the question of how long it takes on average: a few minutes vs 10 vs more. If the color isn’t pentrating well, is it safe to leave the yoyo in until it does? I want to re-try my Mosquito, but not ruin it.
Awesome, the end result looks epic O.O
nice. i dyed my pgm and it came out an awesome army green.
