I started yoyoing a few years ago. My first yoyo was a aluminium unresponsive (IDK the brand).
I knew a couple tricks. Then the bearing went bad. I said i will buy a new one. I has passed 4 years and i finally bought the bearing but i forgot everything about yoyoing. Any tips for starting over?
Welcome back!!!
I would suggest working on practicing breakaway, trapeze, and basic side style bind. These are foundational, and getting a good throw/ breakaway and getting the YoYo straight/ stable is crucial.
The app “Skills Addict” is excellent platform for learning and getting feedback, imo. It’s not perfect but it can be very helpful.
Hi! I’m a newbie too. Although I’ve had a yoyo for 2 years now, practicing has been irregular, so I barely know the basics.
My suggestion - get a cheaper plastic responsive yoyo (but still from a quality manufacturer). Responsive makes it easier to learn tricks and cheap plastic means that you won’t regret scratching it. And then what @SlowThrow said.
Added: Also, if you don’t like SkillsAddict (which I think required you to upload videos of yourself to progress, maybe I’m wrong), I’ve found the “Level-up” section of https://■■■■■■■■■■.com/ to be nice. Bonus points that it’s a webpage and you don’t need to install anything, and can watch it anywhere.
