Introducing the HD by MK1YoYos! This is the signature yoyo of team member Connor Sheahan, who used it to secure a finals spot at the National YoYo Contest earlier this year!
Connor’s vision for his signature yoyo was clear: it needed to excel in competition while remaining engaging for long practice sessions. To achieve this, he aimed to blend traits from his favorite “for fun” yoyos into the HD. Connor loves the maneuverability and light feel of yoyos like the Anima, Notion, and Motif. However, he wanted to avoid yoyos that feel too “airy” or lack string presence, so he ensured it had plenty of rim weight. The result is a yoyo with seemingly average specs but with playability that hits the perfect sweet spot of control and maneuverability.
And it absolutely delivered on all his expectations. The HD spins forever, stays stable, and is incredibly competition-ready, yet throughout the prototyping phase, it never got boring. It’s truly a perfect jack-of-all-trades yoyo, allowing you to lean into its various capabilities depending on what you want to achieve. Mark is a wizard when it comes to yoyo design, and it’s incredible that they nailed the feel in just two prototypes.
