Harbinger by MK1Yoyos x Spinworthy Yoyos! - Available Tonight! 03/08 - 7pm ET!

Idk about a shelf warmer. My el tio has replaced my el mijo al entirely from my lineup. The el mijo al is now the shelf warmer because el tip can take a hit better and won’t get beat up in my pocket.

I imagine similar if you did a ti harbinger the al version would never leave the shelf. I will not a ti responsive isn’t for everyone and a like a niche in a niche in a niche so I wouldn’t do like a big run it would server better as like a pre order like el tio did.

I vote no ti harbinger but I also vote no ti anything so…

I would consider picking up a second run with some other color choices. As I mentioned I would love an Rhnull but also consider clear, black, or white. I imagine it would look stunning in white cerakote.

Man an all black harbinger with the MK1 and SW in white print would look classy.

I just put a tiny drop of brain lube right on top of the rubber shield and the response is perfect. I’m using zipline prestige for my string.

Ok. So anybody have a good trick for removing an MR85 without damaging it? I don’t have a bearing tool that small and the teeth on my pliers seem like they’d some damage. What do y’all do?

Edited it say: It just occurred to me that I’ve got a bajillion drill bits, and the back end of those seem harmless. I’ll bet I have one that fits like a bearing tool … checking!

I’m pretty sure I used the back of a watch band pusher tool to wiggle mine out last time. Gotta take the set screw out but once it’s out it’s easy to find something to fit inside the bearing and wiggle.

This is the answer

Update: an MR85 says 5mm ID, which is 13/64. But all my 13/64 bits have different sized shanks. Haven’t found one that fits well enough yet. Boo. I’ll keep sticking random things in it until I find a winner though.

Maybe someone -coughcoughMK1coughcough- needs to manufacture a MR85 tool?

I’ve seen various expandable removers they usually look really over priced.

I think d, a, and mr85 all have the same inner diameter. I just use my d bearing tool that came with my el mijo for mr85 and it works great.

Well that settles it. I guess I’ll just have to get some D- and A-bearing yo-yos then!

I won’t shamelessly plug any of those in this thread…but I will say this…the Harbinger is just so elegant. It’s like it zips around and lands on its tiptoes. It dives off the high dive and doesn’t make a splash. I’ve never felt anything like it and I really dig it!!

Inner diameter

So they’ll have same size bearing post but they won’t have the magic of mr85. The outer diameter is what makes mr85 so special.

Until I got a d-bearing puller, I used pliers with tape over the teeth (and on the face which might touch the yoyo) to pull the bearings off. Being careful - never damaged any of my rbcs/harbingers this way.

If you have a 5mm drill bit you can try the shank of that as well, but they’re usually pretty beveled so don’t work great.

Also, YYE restocked the red & swap Harbingers that I mailed to them.

I left town for a bit and needed to choose one yoyo to bring. I chose the Harbinger. Such an amazing 0A yoyo. I can really put in the time on this thing since I know it can handle all the funky fixie and modern responsive type tricks I love exploring.

Yup! I was just joking that I should buy some more yo-yos just to get a D puller. I really do love the little Mister85. I loved how it felt in the Origen too, but that one doesn’t have high enough walls for my liking. This ‘binger is durn near perfect for me though. Thanks MK1+SW!
