graphic images

When a disturbing photo is labeled as a graphic image, why do they call it that? I mean its a real picture right?

Disturbing, not “fake” let’s face it, there are things in life that are disturbing.

“graphic” alone, simply means visual or explicit, blatant. It doesn’t imply anything else without another word along with it. (ie: graphic violence, graphic nudity, etc.)

The term “graphic” in movies usually applies to things society deems taboo. Something we, as a society, have made into something that should be hidden, something that people “aren’t supposed to see/look at”.

Graphic could mean anything. From gross to terrifying to finely detailed. All of those categories are different with each person.
