Grail owners can you confirm is OG grail?

Hey folks can anyone who has a grail quickly confirm if this seems like legit OG grail?
Seems like it to me from my research just wanted another pair of eyes on it

Looks like it, but would need more pics to tell for sure for sure. Iā€™m the one who made the ā€œfake Grailā€ thread, so read through that, become enlightened on the differences between real and fake, and maybe ask the seller for more pics and examine with a more informed perspective.

Awesome thanks Spence!
I had thatā€™s why I was on the concerned side but based on what I could tell on careful observation on your post and your insight specific added I feel fine to ā€˜gambleā€™ as I donā€™t have first one to compare

thanks again I appreciate it!

edit: rats someone snatched both from the listed moments before! atleast can better tell difference now lol

Looks like a pyramatte finish and One Drop are the only ones who do that finish. Definitely looks legit.

Almost bought this one but had to tell myself I needed to chill for a bit.

Can anyone tell me if this is a real Grail?
I want to buy it but Iā€™m not itā€™s real.
Thanks

That rim/lip makes it look more like a Dale.
The grail rim looks thinner.
Need a higher resolution / more pictures.
I can provide a grail/dale side by side tonight.

Bearing seat is a fool proof way to tell, not to start that debate againā€¦

Why donā€™t you contact Charles Haycock?

Obviously, just a visual isnā€™t everythingā€¦ But that being said, Charles has seen enough of them, that he might look at that image. And it will either register as genuine or heā€™ll see something that will immediately make him decide thereā€™s something funny about it?

Iā€™ll contact him for you and send him a link or just the image copied and pasted.

Iā€™m pretty certain he wouldnā€™t want you to get a knock off more than youā€™d wanna buy one. So it wonā€™t hurt to hit him up for some possible feedback. Iā€™ll do it right now.

Update> I sent a message to Charles via Instagram with the link. I also sent the link to him directly at his site. He certainly is a busy guy, but he does check messages. We will see it shouldnā€™t take long or itā€™ll take forever.

Charles got back to me already.

He said he couldnā€™t come up with a definitive answer based on that one image.

But he did say a few things, one of which was already observed by skysurviel>

Charles said the rims looked a little thicker more like a Dale. He also mentioned that the yo-yo in the image has a shiny looking finish Like a B7.

He also said something I found pretty interesting, but you have to have the yo-yo in hand to check it out. Charles said that you take the yo-yo apart and see if you could easily remove the bearing using just your fingers and yet when the bearing is on the yo-yo half You can wiggle it and thereā€™s no play. He said one drop machine the Grails In one of their trademarks is obviously the closest thing to a perfect bearing fit. He said if you canā€™t get the bearing off with your fingers easily, that strike one right there.

Unfortunately, without having a yo-yo in your hands, you donā€™t have the opportunity to check or uncheck that box.

He said somebody sent him a bootleg just for reference, but he canā€™t seem to find it right now. But he did suggest if nothing else a few more images might help.

Itā€™s going on one in the morning over here where Iā€™m at in Southern California. Iā€™ve decided to adopt my uncle Jimā€™s cat on account of because, he dropped dead on me on September 19th, And I finally got tired of driving by his house in another town just to feed the cat lol
And then a few weeks ago when I went to pick up some mail at his house, I went into the backyard and walked right into a little crew of coyotes that were trying to decide if one cat was enough for lunch?

In a few minutes, Iā€™ll be going over to My other house to feed the cat and go downstairs room that I dedicated to nothing but my 1500 and something yo-yos. At least a few of them are Grails. And I canā€™t wait to take one out and stare at that edge and compare it to the one in that image. Iā€™ll try to simulate that image at that approximate distance to do an edge thickness comparison. Obviously Iā€™m not Sherlock Holmes so I may be full of beans on this one? But I guess it is possible if I could take an image similar to that hand holding the yo-yo , That it might just be obvious whether it is or isnā€™t a bootleg? Be back soonā€¦ā€¦

Well, I couldnā€™t capture the ā€˜handheld yoyo imageā€™, so Iā€™ll just post up a few Grail images in my light box.

Both green and orange are Grails and weigh 63.4 grams. They appear to have thinner rims(appear). But that may just be an optical illusion :face_with_monocle:

This next image is the 2 Grails and the custom ano job measures out as a Grail but only weighs 62. Grams. The Pink yoyo is a B7. Same shape, diameter, width, but weighs just 62 gramsšŸ˜

Hi @skysurveil
I couldnā€™t help but notice you have a real Grail. I donā€™t suppose you want to part with it?

@yoyodoc
Thanks for all your help. Iā€™ll keep you in touch with the saga.
Good on you for looking after your Uncleā€™s cat.
