Has anyone ever heard of a yoyo being made out of machined g10? I love the feeling of the material but not sure if it would hold up to the stress.
What is “G10”?
FR-4 glass epoxy composite laminate G10 material, commonly referred to as Micarta*, garolite or Bakelite*, is a thermoset fiberglass composite manufactured from glass filament cloth with a di-functional or tri-functional epoxy binder
Weird.
It is commonly used in knife handle scales, i was just looking to see if it was even possible to get something thick enough to machine, not that i have the ability, and it looks like 3" rods would be the affordable way, sheet stock is really rather pricey once you get to thick pieces.
It could be done, but being glass filled it would take a big toll on your tools.
Interesting, to be honest my machining knowledge is very limited so the insight is greatly appreciated!
