I get where you’re coming from. If you’re looking at it strictly as a player, there are plenty of modern yoyos that perform just as well or better. This one is aimed at collectors. Its value comes from being a scarce piece of yo-yo history, especially in near-mint condition with the original box. It’s no different than vintage watches, sneakers, or trading cards—the collector market determines the value.
One in very near if not mint condition sold for 1k pretty recently.
