I think it’s nice, I enjoy the snow and winter, but if you ask a lot of native Finns they’ll probably curse it lol.

If you like the snow and don’t mind the very short days (getting about 5.5 hours total of daylight right now), it’s good. Lots of people leaving the house when it’s completely dark out, and by the time they finish work/school it’s also completely dark out.

This is the city I live in, Lahti.

Do you also have bicycle paths open in winter, like they famously do in Oslo?

Yeah, the bicycle and pedestrian paths are maintained extremely well in the winter. The snow gets packed down rather than plowed, and there’s gravel added as well below the snow to help create traction even when some parts may melt and turn to ice.
