Just curious if modern hybrids (e.g. iYoYo Iceburg, DD Monarch) have/are expected to crack over the years like old YYJ yoyos did. Have there been advancements to improve this, or is it just an option to get cheaper bi-metal performance (or better) for ≤ 10 years?

I’ve only heard of luftverk plastics having cracking issues lately and it seems to be caused by the blank they’re machined from.

Very seldom.

TL;DR (for others):
Many modern plastics & hybrids are now machined rather than injection molded. This is stronger at the molecular level, but they still might crack (at least a aesthetically if not structurally enough to effect play). Still, yoyoing - even with hybrid yoyos - is a relatively cheap hobby.
Is that a fair summation?

I’ve found that, as long as you use enough truth serum…they all crack…eventually. It doesn’t matter if they’re Yo-yos, dweebs, jocks, tough guys, or even hybrids.
