I’ve been playing a consistent game of DnD for about 2 years and we’re firing up our second campaign. Playing a caster for the first time and I’m just excited to talk about it.
What’s your build? Any haha moments from your table? This is the place.

Oops Sorry
. I haven’t don’t pen a paper in quite some time. Big bg fan though, from 1 all the way to the recent third. Going through outer worlds 2 at the moment. ![]()
I’m currently running a 5e campaign, as well as a Daggerheart campaign. My wife also runs a campaign, where I’m a Tiefling Lore Bard.
Never finished a campaign in person unfortunately but I love the BG games. And Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights, etc.
I’ve done i think three playthrough of baldurs gate 3 so far. Bard, paladin, sorlock. I am reliant on the CHA crutch for my player character / party face. Sorry not sorry lol
Don’t be sorry, CHA is the goat stat in bg3 ![]()
whatcha thinking? sorc mechanics are fun
Rolling up a basic fiend patron warlock. I’ve been almost every style of martial before, so DM challenged me to go caster. He also provided me with a stellar hook for my patron that I was able to sink my teeth into. I got tricked into a subscription service w/ my patron.
Warlocks are awesome! So many story possibilities. I play 5e not sure about rule changes. But if it is still a short rest class make sure you get two a day that matter. Otherwise long rest casters will be more powerfull/ flexible. My DM did in the past most of the time one big encounter/ event a (in game) day and then your options are quickly limited compared to other casters. But eldritch blast was still a very reliable and decent damage spell.
Just a general gripe with DnD as I wander through my newest character creation.
Why in the world does DnD Beyond select both 14 and 24 5e rule sets by default?!? Not only that, but if a spell has been rebalanced between the two versions, it’s just completely omitted. I spent so long working around the fact that I couldn’t find Armor of Agathys for this reason before I realized the mistake.
Also. Just release a new edition??? Why do we need two 5e rules sets floating around?!?
