Did OT reformulate Spotlight string?

Anyone else notice a difference between older and newer batches of OT Spotlight?

My older stuff (bought over a year ago) is more greenish, feels slightly thicker and much coarser, and feels whippier.

The new bag I bought recently is much more yellow, feels thinner and softer, and less whippy.

Hunter and Shuyun can answer to that question

I emailed Hunter through his website. We’ll see if he answers and what he thinks.

Hunter got back to me saying they changed the color to be more visible on stage, but not the overall formula, and did acknowledge that variances in batches do exist.
Interesting that this much variation does occur though, it’s like a completely different string.
I still like the “regular” version better, but this particular batch I got plays like a whippier OT normal, with a thickness between OT normal and fat.

Beyond batch differences, the varying properties of dyes can make a difference.

Obviously, the “same” string is often made in multiple colors, but some report difference in feel, longevity etc. between variants.

Adding visibility could mean introducing other changes that are perceptible.

Edit to add: Can different colors of the same string feel different? A chemist comments
