I just looked at this and if I’m repeating an answer I apologize. What’s happening here is the blank is “too” narrow for the Side Effects to squeeze. The axle bottoms out in the screw hole before the posts come together. This is how they are designed. If you shorten the axle with a file or Dremel (my suggestion) you can shorten them enough to get the posts to touch. If this is still not tight enough to squeeze down on the blank it will be necessary to remove (file/Dremel) some of the material on the post that doesn’t have the axle loctite’d into it. Usually only a portion of a mm. Also likely to need to shorten the axle a tad more as well. Before proceeding though, a picture of the blank sitting in place in the bearing seat would be helpful to make sure something isn’t being missed.

Yeah I have one se I chopped like this but I’ve favored shimming yo-yos more myself. I do see the value in how you e modded yo-yos though
