Deep State prototype appreciation

Let’s come to together to appreciate the Deep State prototype. Not only is it an awesome throw, but it gave rise to the excellent blank-State series. Its massive weight might be a hazard, but its sky blue hues remind you:

don’t think; just accidentally hurt your self with this enormous hunk of metal on a string.

Weight: ~68g with flat caps

Can anyone remember how many were made? I think it was 9. I might have a screenshot somewhere.

Here’s the side effects I have in it.

(Threw it a few times and knew it could stand to be heavier heheh)

Also super curious if anyone else on here has tried this throw & what their thoughts are?

@da5id (and @The_Machinist) what did you think of this? Curious.

Would be cool to hear Shawn’s POV too. ^^

Dangerous and didn’t perform right. Can’t remember how many made but around 10 sounds normal.

Sorry y’all my RAM is only good for a couple months(not 8 years!) and I’m terrible at documentation, hehe. I do remember throwing one of the first protos with a lubed bearing and being a little bit terrified of the return.

Ok, we did some research and the number is … 20!

If you never tried to do forward pass with it then be thankful! It’s like playing five finger fillet with your whole hand.

You won’t shoot the moon with it

(Jk, I don’t condone violence, especially on oneself)

Thank you David! I’ll put that in my spreadsheet so that I can’t forget this time.

Saddest thing is I never got that far into looping tricks so—for the moment—you’re unfortunately correct.

Yeah a lot of the smaller Ti yo-yos are kinda like this. WAY too dense for their size.

The full size ti that’s been going super thin have been pretty cool. Way too expensive mostly due to machining costs but cool all the same
