I’m fairly new, but I was wondering if anyone yoyos in Upstate NY? I know I’m the only one in my school, so it’s kind of a lonely yoyoing existence…

I’m revitalizing this thread. I’m a mom who started yoyoing with my two kids 4 months ago from Ithaca, NY. We learn from tutorials and YouTube videos, but I also think my kids would thrive with mentors and other yoyo players to create a learning fun community. They even got friends in their school interested in it and they started a tiny club. It’s awesome to see kids with yoyos at the parent pick up line or at playgrounds.
Are there any clubs in Upstate NY or college students who attend Cornell or Ithaca College who would want to get something started? Or meet up in Rochester or Syracuse? We saw that there was a club called Finger Lakes YoYo club but looks inactive.
We had the opportunity to meet Gentry Stein in AZ (family members live there) and then again when we went to the Northeast Regionals in April along with meeting other fantastic people! Sadly, we only visit AZ once a year, MA is just too far away to join their club, I know NYC has a club but also way too far.

Hi!! I’m in Rochester, NY and travel to Ithaca for work once in a while. I was suppose to be there next week in fact but my schedule shifted. I need to reschedule it though. How old are your kids? I’d love to stop and show them a few things.
There aren’t any clubs right now but I’ve been wanting to start one for a long time. I had a little thing going at the grade school when my daughters were there but I kind of fizzled out with my travel for work.

Hi! Thanks for connecting so quickly. I didn’t know if my post would reach anyone especially after 15 years haha. I started an Upstate NY thread and Yoyo expert prompted me that a similar thread already started.

Hi! Sorry I’m not from NY I’m from Pittsburgh but I absolutely love the idea of a mom and her kids yo-yoing together! My daughter is gonna be 2 in January and I’ve definitely been thinking about possibilities of her wanting to try and yoyo with me lol I wish you guys the absolute best!
