so i’ve recently gotten into dropping the yos for abot 3 months now and i’m curious how folks go about cleaning their actual yoyos. I have some plastic and some plastic/metal rimmed yoyos (dark magic, new breed, speed maker, and a northstar) that have “lost their luster” so-to-speak. Is there a specific chemical i should or should NOT use when trying to clean them? i’m only interested in the cleaning folks may do on the yoyo itself as oppose to the bearing, which i’m familiar with it’s maintenance. any thoughts are greatly appreciated. 
Dull metal rims I use Brasso polish on them and after a good buffing they look brand new.
