Christmas Yos! 2025

MK1 Laze, YYR Little Savage, JB Dunk PC, CLYW Leaf, yoyofriends x MK1 Heron. The Heron is a late contender for my release of the year.

Does it actually work for 0a? I know physics are going to be very wonky for something that size, was tempted to get one haha

It works, but the size makes even the most basic stuff very difficult, at least for me. I havent spent much time with a butterfly of normal proportions let alone this lil guy. I think the novelty is worth the price of admission though.

I have a TK Pocket Rocket, prob similar in size. It’s definitely much harder to use due to being smaller, less momentum/torque to make it back up with the softer throws one would do with a fixie/responsive.

How do they play?

Reposting this as a reply sorry

The Outlier is a monster. It has tons of power and stability. It is surprisingly comfortable and does not feel like its weight. It’s dead smooth. My trick lexicon is mostly tech so I don’t use it all the time, but I am using it to expand my repertoire. Specifically horizontal which is making it much more manageable. I wouldn’t recommend 60mm unless that extra width supports the types of tricks you want to do. From a comfort standpoint I have zero hesitation recommending it. It’s not like the old bimetals that feel like a rock and break your hand when binding.

The KNack is beautifully crafted. You can tell it wasn’t just made by anyone. There is a high level of craftsmanship here. I am not particularly good at 0A so take my feedback as such. It is a 3 piece maple and like other wood yo-yos, string makes a big difference. I have YYE cotton 10 and that seems to be working well. I’m going to experiment with other string though and see how that changes response. Wood in general is a little more slippy but it responds well. It’s taller than my other responsive so some tricks take a little more skill to keep it from tipping over. I suspect wood is better suited for someone with experience. The indentations on the side are expertly designed. Very well executed. Overall I really love it, but for a beginner I think something with snappy response and not as tall is easier to learn on. Regardless I keep coming back to it.
