Koi rewrote what a yoyofriends throw could feel like back in 2020, trading raw competition specs for flow and organic shape without losing performance, and it became one of the brand’s most iconic releases across steel, titanium, XL, and mini versions. Carp is the next chapter, a budget-friendly polycarbonate take on that same DNA, built to bring the Koi experience to a wider audience.

Mini-Peregrine-X-Feature

The Mini Peregrine X is a true undersized bi-metal built for high-level performance. Yoyofriends designed it to feel compact and fun while keeping the spin power, stability, and agility of a competition yo-yo, and they count it among the most impressive mini models they’ve ever made.

It pulls together the best of the lineup in one ultra-compact throw. The elegant construction comes from the Peregrine X, the sizing and shape are refined with insights from the Mini Hummingbird, and a D bearing like the one in the SS Koi powers it. The diameter is smaller than usual, but the catch zone is wider, so tricks are easier to execute while the yo-yo still holds a powerful presence on the string.

MINI-TI-KOI-Feature
The mini Peregrine X proved undersized yo-yos didn’t have to sacrifice power, using a D-bearing to pack real performance into a smaller frame. That success raised an obvious question for yoyofriends: what if the next undersized build leaned into fun instead of pure competition performance? Mini Ti Koi is the answer, an undersized titanium yo-yo built for portability without giving up the punch.

Both of these minis are excellent. The Mini Ti Koi plays so much better than you would think. D bearing really makes a difference.
