Hi there, I have created this post not exactly for a direct recommendation of a certain brand or type of bulk yoyo string but just for some general opinions on bulk yoyo strings like Kitty String, Original Throw String, and Sochi String. Just a discussion on things like what is your favorite out of the three or any other string you have in mind, A general take on the each of the 3 string I have listed here or any others that should have a spotlight in the discussion, or any other string that should be listed here to talk about. Also, if you have any certain 1A/3A/5A Yoyos that you enjoy as well feel free to talk about that here as well.

I’ve gone through hundreds of each of these strings and Original Throw is my favorite bulk at this point.
Sochi was my favorite for a while but I started getting more and more packs with poor QC issues, like strings where the twist bunches up in spots and feels really rough on your hands (I actually returned a 100-pack or two because it was so bad). Also, I noticed they have some kind of film on them that gets on your hands and makes them more slippery. I eventually stopped using them altogether after having shipping/communication issues ordering direct from them.
Then I switched to Kitty Classic (Fat) for a while. I enjoy them, but they’re no longer being produced, so I had to find a more available option. They also feel a little outdated and don’t whip/slack as well as some modern strings. I have not tried the newer ones, so I can’t speak to those, but they are also a bit pricey.
OT (Normal) is my new go to because they are pretty consistent QC wise, feel nice in my hands, play well, and are just the right size for most of my collection. They’re also like half the price of Kitty. I can see myself using these as long as they keep producing them.
As far as throws, I mainly do 1A and 5A. My favorites are mostly One Drops. Top Deck, Dang 2, and Rev 1 are my favorite players for 1A, performance wise. For 5A I mainly use a Mowl Vigilancia w/ Duncan dice. I’ve also been playing the Mike Monty Memento, Featherspin Anser, Freshly Dirty Orchid and OD Kamuraiju a lot lately in addition to the others mentioned.

I have all three (Sochi, OT, Kitty) in fat sizes. Here are my thoughts:
Sochi: Similar to Kitty in terms of feel and thickness, long lasting, I have white colour so sometimes loses its colour due to dust, moisture and other external factors.
Kitty: Similar to Sochi but I feel like it is just a tad bit softer, long lasting as well, same problem due to the white colour
OT: Very thick compared to Sochi and Kitty Fat (OT Normal is equivalent to Sochi and Kitty Fat), Soft and fun to play, does not last a very long time, colour is yellow and very bright / visible
