Bulk Yo-Yos that aren't garbage?

I am looking to buy roughly 50 cheap yo-yos for a yo-yo event next month. I would love to find something with oldschool paper caps like a ProYo or Team Losi style. I looked into the Duncan Custom program, but they have a minimum order of 100, and it starts at $450 for the ProYo option.

Would also settle for a regular plastic fixie that isn’t just total trash. I’ve looked at AliExpress, Oriental Trading, Amazon, and eBay with little luck. Any leads appreciated. Or if you happen to be sitting on a pile of NOS cheapies let me know!

Do they have to be fixies? I buy bulk butterfly xts from Target for $5 a piece, I just had to talk to a manager and let them know what I was doing and why I needed 100 yoyos.

That’s the sticker price for them at Target, butt I’ve seen the numbers, they’re only making a few dimes per yoyo, so they can’t really lower the price.

I’ve also managed to get spinstars from pop shelf for $4.25 a piece.

Already bidding on this one :+1:

Yoyoexpert has the snapback

Snapback is great but way more than I want to spend for 50 of them.

That makes sense. It does say they offer “club pricing” for clubs or events.

If you reach out to recess Tyler can usually work out bulk discounts on first base. Similarly if you reach out to @YoYoExpertEric or the contact email for yye and get Andre they sometimes can do a bulk discount on SnapBack..

Yyf used to do bulk on spin star but have dissociated hard from US events and support this last year or so. I won’t dive into that comment deeper…

Magic yoyo d1 and the wide xt like d2 are by far the cheapest bulk yo-yos on the market even with import fees.

Duncan is hard they can do bulk but because of the flambo corp stuff they have corp limits and junk.

Also if you have the time and equipment or connections or a maker space near you 3d printed is by far the cheapest bulk yoyo option you can get

+1 for first base. Snapback is an instance of getting what you pay for in my opinion

For a beginner workshop a spinstar, or SnapBack are perfect honestly. Baseline responsive for everyone to be on the same footing with.

First base is awesome because you can jump into intermediate and ad danced stuff for those interested

Ohh also totally forgot but the spintastic manta ray and hurricane could work and the company that does those also does bulk if you email them.

I think spinstar is a better option for sure. First base is indeed nice in that it allows for people who decide “hey, I wanna stick with this" to do more.

If you can keep that bid under 140 it’ll be as economic or better than the magic yoyo option. If it goes over 180 it’s not worth it

I will definitely reach out to Eric and see what he can do with the snapback! I love Tyler and the First Base, but it doesn’t really lend itself to the idea I’m shooting for.

For reference, this isn’t going to be any kind of workshop, or class. The club I run in Portland is losing its longtime indoor venue, Lloyd Center Mall, and I am making a small batch of commemorative yo-yos for the final meet we are having there before they tear it down later this year. While also nodding to one of the coolest yo-yo caps to ever exist, the Grim Sleeper.

Not enough time but Tyler has totally done club specific first base runs before. Obviously that’s lead time I doubt you have though. The art is cool it would be a dope special edition first base

Spintastic would fit a printed paper pog, 3d printing would work for this well and maybe the Duncan stuff because you can 3d print a cap or pog holder

Also the myy d2 100% would work similar to this like how the rcs rebrand was.

I’m gonna cross my fingers on that bulk lot on eBay and see what happens. I appreciate the input! I would love to do a custom First Base with Tyler some day, but yeah this one is a little short notice.
