Boosted Rainier by One Drop! - 7075 Competition YoYo!

The original Rainier began as a scaled-up Cascade with weight pushed to the rims—an experiment that quickly became one of One Drop’s most powerful “Dark Side” designs. With its proven performance and unique feel, it was only natural to take it even further with a Boosted version.

So what does Boosted mean? Instead of simply remaking a 6061 model in the denser 7075 alloy (what One Drop used to call a GZR Edition), the Boosted process re-engineers the design so that the yo-yo actually ends up lighter—while still gaining the benefits of 7075. By thinning out the body walls beyond the limits of 6061 and redistributing that saved weight to the rims, One Drop creates a more extreme, more powerful design without changing the profile or overall dimensions.

With the Boosted Rainier, the result is a yo-yo with even more rim weight, yet a total weight roughly 0.5 grams lighter than the original Rainier—and nearly 3 grams lighter than if it were just a straight 7075 remake. That shift in weight distribution gives the Boosted Rainier a whole new level of spin power, stability, and speed on the string.
