Best way to keep yoyo from unscrewing

Crud, I don’t have access to drills nor does my country carry those things. But thank you! I kinda feel scummy for not being able to apply your guy’s’ knowledge on this stuff but maybe someone else will find this info useful.

Best way to salvage it is to take the axle out of the other half and glue it into the half where the threads are wearing out. Use a thread locker like Loctite instead of a super glue, it will hold much stronger.

It’s an OG Iceberg (I’m a little ashamed to say it cause it’s my most expensive and capable throw). I’ve had 3 monometals before getting it so I thought I was in the clear to dish out and buy a more expensive throw. My cheaper monos had longer axles though the Iceberg’s axles are by no means short so this can just really be chalked up to me screwing it up, figuratively and literally. Took me a while to figure out I could just fish out an axle knot using a toothpick instead of unscrewing.

I can get some actual legit Loctite here! Which is a little surprising to say the least, was expecting to contend with some knockoffs. I can get 242 blue or 243. My first option actually was teflon tape since it’s cheaper but I’ve read through other threads that it can cause cross threading?

Hmm after feeling the chills down my spine every time I even think about twisting the damn thing, I don’t think I’ll be adjusting it lol. I’ll definitely look into using Loctite but I’ll be sure to carefully consider both options.

Like go all the way through? Brutal stuff man.

Ohh It looks much better than what I originally envisioned. I thought It was just a bolt with a nut at the other end. I’ve actually never seen this done to a yoyo before! But since a drill and a loaf of bread is involved, I’m sure this counts as a safety hazard for everyone within a 20 meter radius.
