Ben's Alphabetacular Yoyo Review: C3 Terrarize

TLDR: Move over Hydrogen Crash, Ben has a new favorite yoyo.

The meat of the matter:

You ever interact with a yoyo that just makes things feel like you’re cheating? Like, things just click and become wayyyy too easy? This is one of those yoyos for me. One of the latest releases of C3yoyodesign at this year’s Worlds, the Terrarize is immensely powerful (comparable to a Grasshopper Gtx) and fast (even faster than the Hydrogen Crash) above anything else, although stability is nowhere near lacking. If I were to have any complaint with it, and this is less of a complaint and more of an area that is simply neutral to me, is that ease of control suffers in play sometimes just due to how frikking fast it is. This is more of a skill issue on my part and I know that as I improve this will eventually be mitigated.

Horizontally, this yoyo thrives unlike any other throw I have had the pleasure of interacting with. As long as you are moving the yoyo along the plane of your throw, the Terrarize absolutely refuses to tilt or precess and gives you an incredibly ample amount of time to recover if you miss (typically at least 2 seconds before things start going topsy turvy if you just drop the yoyo straight down while it’s zontal).

For years I have lauded C3 for their ability to make fun, competitively-minded yoyos. This is no exception, and while Hydrogen Crash may no longer be my beloved, the Terrarize is a worthy successor that allows yoyoers to truly push their limits.

Grade: SS

Diameter: 56.94mm

Width: 50.11mm

Gap width: Not mentioned, but binds are pretty middle-of-the-road in terms of sensitivity with thick string and hard pads. Educated guess would be 4.6mm up to 4.8(this range is included due to Terrarize being a member of the Vanitas family, which has a 4.8mm gap in the original version).

Trapeze width: 48mm

Mass: 65.3g

Materials: 6061 AL body with stainless rims and PC wings.

Compare this yoyo to: other members of the Vanitas family, Grasshopper GTX, Veylaa, Upheaval.

If you made it all the way through this, thanks for reading!

Sounds like a fun yoyo! But man… I get the pun but that’s certainly some choice for the name
