A typical hollow-body yoyo has a clear hierarchy.

The inner half, closest to the axle, is the body. This is where the axle, bearing, and response are mounted — everything the yoyo needs to spin lives here. The cap attaches from outside, like a lid, shaping the look and adjusting the weight.

The body is primary, the cap secondary. Take the cap off, and the yoyo still spins.

In DECO, this relationship is reversed.
The inner half — what should have been the body — now functions as the cap.
The outer half — what should have been the cap — now functions as the body.
The large surface visible from outside is the main body, and the inner piece is what caps it.
But this is not a simple flip. The inner piece, though treated as the cap, is still in contact with the bearing and response. The outer piece, though treated as the body, still shapes the yoyo’s appearance. Both are primary, and both are secondary.

Anyone who takes it apart is left with the question: what is this actually made of ? Which part is the main body, and which is the accessory ? There is no clear answer.
And one more thing. The most intricate structure is placed where it can never be seen from outside. The double rim hidden inside will never once meet your eye unless you take the yoyo apart.

And yet, throw it, and it’s always at work. What it creates is a soft, floating feel. Despite being full-sized at 56.5 mm, it doesn’t feel heavy when thrown.

DECO is a yoyo we made after working with A-rt, HSPIN, and CLYW.
Why place the most intricate structure where no one can see it ?
What did we take from these three brands, and what did we rebuild ?
