The Armageddon is the newest full-sized monometal from YoYoFriends, born directly from player feedback and refined through relentless prototyping. Inspired by team member Yahoo (Hy Dang), who requested a yo-yo even wider than the Ultracut, YoYoFriends set out to push the boundaries of competition design while staying true to their core philosophy—make the yo-yos players need to succeed.
After countless discussions and testing, the team landed on the perfect specs: 57mm diameter with a massive 53mm width. This combination gives the Armageddon a commanding presence on the string, making zoning and body tricks more accessible, while still maintaining balance for intricate tech play.
Performance was the top priority, and YoYoFriends fine-tuned every detail to make it shine. The simple V-shaped profile delivers blistering speed and acceleration, while the convex parabola hub ensures ideal weight placement above the axle. Thanks to the use of premium 7068 aluminum, the walls could be made thinner, allowing for exceptionally thick rims—maximizing spin power, stability, and control without feeling clunky.
Through three full prototype stages, the design was sharpened to perfection: edges smoothed for comfort, weight optimized at 66.1g, and rim weight distribution carefully rebalanced. The final result? A yo-yo that combines speed, power, and stability in a way that feels effortless yet commanding—a true meta competition monometal.
The name “Armageddon” takes inspiration from K-pop group Aespa’s album of the same name, with the phrase “I’ma get ’em done” capturing the YoYoFriends philosophy perfectly. Whatever players ask for, they deliver—and the Armageddon proves it.
