i generally dislike those black axles, but thats just because they tend to get stuck when you leave them in a yoyo for too long, but does anyone know what the black axles are actually made of, or what the differences between the black and the stainless axles are?
All typical axles are steel*, I would assume slightly different finishes on the steel? Not sure other than that.
* unless they are rare exotics like Ti or Magnesium, look those up on YYE, they do exist

Yes. Lightest axle on YYE. It doesn’t have a hex key though.
They are stainless steel with a black oxide coating.

So basically there is no difference between them and no reason really that the black axles should exist?
Alloy steels are typically harder than stainless steel. Doesn’t really make a difference in yoyos.
