Your favourite One drop

Is that the cerakote version? Looks intriguing from that view lol.

I don’t want to consider collabs, so I’m immediately throwing the Summit out of the running (otherwise this would be the immediate choice for me)

With that as the context though, Free Solo I don’t think is it. As much as I like the Summit, Free Solo doesn’t really carry the same energy. I feel like the Arctic Circle 2 is almost a better tapped Summit than the Free Solo. Free Solo performs well yeah, but performance is so far away from the entire reason why I’d wanna play a Summit. The snow tires, tight gap, extended response midwall, and the excellent pacing in play or what I like about the Summit, and Free Solo misses the mark. For what it’s worth I like the og Summit significantly more than Seven Summit.

With that said I think the 2013 Benchmark O is my favorite. It really nails a lot of what I’d want out of a One Drop. Tight gap, excellent handfeel, a lot of string contact potential on the body without becoming too much of a tilt machine, and side effects. Simple and effective shape means it just performs well and feels nice to play. The lack of response bump on the profile lets me feel way more in control of the yoyo, and I like having that more direct feel over a yoyo which is part of what I like about the Summit.

I’ve been really thinking about this as I have a handful of them, it’s hard to choose which is my favorite.

I really want to say it’s Y-Factor for me, as it combines nearly all of what I love in my OD collection. It’s capable, comfortable, smooth as can be, and looks pretty too.

Runners up are Kamuraiju, perhaps if it was in a crazy splash rather than white cerakote… idk. Also, my Panorama plays so nice, is comfy to carry and looks phenomenal in Saturday Market

Also honorable mention to my “NQP” Thruline, what a beast.

As for the Top Deck, I have one, it’s fun and definitely capable, but I cannot say any one thing stands out to make it a favorite. It’s great, don’t get me wrong, but maybe I’m just spoiled for choice with other things in my overall collection that it doesn’t jump out like “THIS IS THE ONE!!”

Not only my favorite One Drop, but my favorite yoyo of all time; the Cascade

(I’m currently looking for a Nickel Cascade too)

So hard not to turn this into a review of every OD I own, so I’ll note a couple and then answer the question.

Top performer would be the Rev 1. It consistently handles whatever I throw at it with ease. Super powerful and stable.

Most unique is the 54 Gen 2. I know I’m in the minority not being a huge fan of the Rainier. I feel the 54G2 is similar in shape, but a form factor that is more my style. Every time I throw it, I’m pleasantly surprised by how it plays.

But, if I have to pick a favorite, I think it would be the Parlay. It’s super comfy, easy to switch up the feel with a quick SE swap (really has the ability to change the way it plays, compared to some other SE throws I have) and can handle quite a bit considering it’s size/shape. It just makes me smile every time I pick it up. Pure fun.

All this to say I’m a big OD fan. I haven’t found one I don’t like.

I’ve only collected a handful of One Drops, but from the ones I have i’d say the Wizard.

My current new favourite!

I think One drop nailed it with this one, really like its weight on the string.

Also very unique.
