Hey all, I just got a new Paranoia (the machined plastic model, not the 3D printed version). I watched the YJYOYO video demonstrating the assembly and it shows the use of plastic spacers in addition to the aluminum spacers. The video is over a year old (Jan 2024) and so i’m not sure if it applies to this current iteration of the Paranoia but the Paranoia that I got does NOT have any plastic spacers-- not in the yoyo itself nor in the box.
Anyone else out there buy a Paranoia recently? Did your yoyo have the plastic spacers?
No doubt it will take a long time to wear out those starburst but at the same time it would’ve been nice to get an extra pair of them with the yo-yo.
I could’ve sworn I read somewhere that a pair of the starbursts would be included in case you need to replace them, but for the life of me, I cannot find out where I thought I saw that?
Maybe I was just dreaming?
Anyway, did you guys get the same little spacer pack that I did?
Yes same thing. I don’t mind if that’s what comes with them. But now I’ll need to search for other parts as well for spares (cause let’s be real in a few years they will be impossible to find)
They are using the original Paranoia, even though it was uploaded recently. The latest Paranoia only comes with the AL spacers. I received the same as you.
I guess I’ll ask @YoYoExpertEric is there any chance yye will carry spare starburst, shims, spacers, axle etc for the paranoia or is that something we can expect to have to go direct for?
Either way is fine just trying to figure out the play here on purchasing
I heard that the replacement starbursts will be available…. But after the Tariffs kick in, the bursts will cost $1721. 37 each///and you have to buy them by the dozen…
All joking aside….. I had an epiphany…… and before I say what it is, I would like to say, it won’t be me because I have no experience at all with my potential solution.
Let’s just say that before YYE gets an answer from the Maker…yet maybe sells ‘dozens of them>
It would be a valiant challenge for somebody with a 3D printer to make some.
I am not encouraging somebody to bootleg them. I am just saying if the Maker just decides to sell a few buckets of the Paranoia loopers, but they don’t go over well enough to keep making them(no matter how good they play), then they Tank the product, and just leave us up the creek without a paddle> I’m sure somebody like Atomicheeseguy, could gear up and save the day?

PS…. My logic tells me that the Maker will be providing replacement parts, soon enough.
Understanding that this looper is much more expensive than ‘most’ other loopers ever made, after they ‘sell’ enough people on buying them, they certainly have to provide the parts to keep em running….

Sadly fdm printing doesn’t do starbursts too well or I would consider this option. Too fine a detail is needed.. Maybe resin printing would work for those…. I don’t mess with resin personally too messy

Well, as I already sorta mentioned, if they want to get the looping product off the ground, they better make replacement parts available.
Or once people realize they can’t service their yo-yos when needed, that certainly wouldn’t inspire future sales.
I have no idea what stock they initially had available at the YJYoyo home site, but no doubt, they players over there wer smart enough to SNAP THEM UP with a Quickness. They would fools not to.
As soon as the yoyo dropped, some folks zero’d out the replacement starbursts.
Andre will be able to get the necessary information…. Especially if he is going to order another Batch to sell. YJYoyo should gear up and make some more to pack along with outgoing orders.
I have been putting off setting up my resin printer since I moved but I could test it with some flex and semi flex material as well as more rigid if you wanted. I plan on buying a paranoia anyway

Uses 19mm slim pad and is made from polycarbonate?
Certainly a different yo-yo than this New release, lol.
But, no doubt, a half spec C bearing would sure make for a different playing looper for sure😳
I would ‘guess’ if a half spec C bearing had any ‘merit’ as a looping bearing alternative, there would be several Makers trying to promote such a setup.
PS.. I like the gap specification, lol.. The gap is listed at 00.0.
I would say that would cause the yo-yo to loop slightly downward and it might hit somebody behind you.
