Thank you Totalarist for being the calming voice in here before it got out of hand. When it comes to Mo he is far from the vengeful yo-yo vigilante that some wanted to make him out to be in this thread. I have sat down and talked with Mo over the phone quite a bit and the only thing that came out hurting was my cell phone plan… he is a seriously fun dude to talk to and an absolute wealth of knowledge when it comes to yo-yo history. I HIGHLY recommend that if he says “look me up. We’ll talk for a few minutes” you take him up on the offer… although that statement makes him an epic liar, because it will never be “a few minutes”. 
As for Geezer, I think it might be time for all of us to start practicing a little restraint. Geezer can sometimes be a decent person but it seems like he tends to want to start a ruckus most of the time. I was going to make a post here about how I had gotten thriftier over the years and didn’t spend as much on yo-yos nowadays… but instead I just dropped $500 on a bunch of new yo-yos, so it seems I was just lying to myself. Adding to that the gift certificates paid out for the contest prizes and I’m pretty sure that I’m single handedly putting Andre’s children through college. 
I feel like I should be disappointed in myself…

Well, if you found good deals on the yo-yos you bought then you were still thrifty. It is all in what perspective you put on it. Now if it was all spent on one yo-yo then your thrifty cred goes right out the window.

do you know how few yo-yo’s there are above that price? you can get used turning points and other high end asian yo-yo’s for that. you can get all CLYW’s new for that. you can get practically any yo-yo from any company (excluding exotic metals and highly exotic metal companies) for that price.
You basically just said you can buy any yoyo for that price apart from a whole stack that are over that price…

You can buy the majority of yo-yo’s with that amount of money. I would wager that the average price of aluminium yo-yo’s is around that price; perhaps it is even lower.
There are so few titanium and rhodium and magnesium and whateverium yo-yo’s that, given the $160 budget, they fade into obscurity with the access to so many other yo-yo’s. Odds are that you could even find some titanium yo-yo’s on the BST for that price. It’s just a ridiculous thing to call a budget.
