Agree about Diffusion 2, such a good pure plastic. As I was playing FAY, it was kind of making me think it was more like a plastic GOPA (even though it was released 6 years prior). Being harder in the fact it just isn’t giving me the spin time you get use too with more premium throws. I am however, still using the included full spec Flat C bearing, which makes it more semi-unresponsive with complex 1A mounts, but it is a fun challenge and really make every movement have to count and be sequenced correctly. I probably would get more performance with a bearing change to an Economy DS, but that upgrade is close to the cost of the throw itself, hence why the Diffusion is such a good deal. I think about doing this mod after every session I have with the FAY, but then I think about the design intent, and find more satisfaction just trying to adapt my play style, and I remember if I wanted more performance out of an oversized slimline budget plastic that I have a Big Fun over on the shelf with a nice KonKave

Today Zgrt - Durendal and Duncan - Gtr-JS in heavy rotation plus a little reel that I filmed with the QI and everything with new fresh strings which makes me feel so good ahahhaha I should start to change strings more frequently

What are your thoughts on the new Genesis? Super close to pulling the trigger on one. It’s been years since I’ve thrown an OG but really curious what you think of the new one.

It is just a perfect example that yoyo design now is vastly improved from 10+ years ago. I don’t play 5A so I can’t speak to that style but for 1A this thing probably outperforms anything at that price point in my collection.
The original design definitely holds a special place in my personal history of yoyo so this was a no brainer buy just based on nostalgia but I’d say go for it.
