@Hanker It’s the Berberis, their new titanium based off the Citizen.
Ohh thank you. That looks interesting. I wonder if it would play like the citizen.
How is the ST??
@kangusmangus ST is outstanding, they chose all the right ways to change the old one.
I’ve owned a Laurus in the past and I wouldn’t say the bezel-less rims make a difference in play. Rather, you can feel the difference in craftsmanship (hence the big price tag). And I’ve never thrown a citizen before so don’t have a mean to compare to that.
Ah I see. They made it seem like the bezel-less rim were super revolutionary and changed the way the yoyo felt in play, but I couldn’t even see any noticeable difference between a normal bimetal and their bimetal with bezel-less rims from their pictures, much less it having an impact on play.
How does it feel in the hand though. Is it like you can’t tell where the bimetal rims start?
I mean, don’t get me wrong, the Laurus was definitely one of the best bi-metals I’ve played. But from what I’ve heard, the Ulmus (almost same design, just heavier) is a good bit more powerful. I couldn’t feel the transition from aluminum to steel on the rims. In general, the shape was very comfortable in the hands.
I’d highly recommend trying one out if you are able to pick one up. They are selling straight out of their company store in Japan right now, but some people on the forums sell them every now and then.
Ohh okay. The price of it is just difficult to justify, especially when it doesn’t grind well. Maybe I’ll pick one up when I’m richer haha.
One of my fav throws looks like a delicious plum…
Snow!!!
Surprisingly got a USPS and Fedex order today. Both showed tomorrow for delivery.
Get the CLYW Zine, It’s cool.
What’s inside the zine?
These two arrived today. Finally. I still have a number of other yoyos on the way. Just lost in between countries somehow.
Actually really impressed with the Skyva, except is seems a bit overly responsive. Perhaps once the pads wear down it will be better.
The oracle is super fun. I don’t have any good looping yoyos, but now I am very curious as to what is available.
Galaxy Shutter WA & R2FG Deduction (Titanium)
the deduction is surprisingly comfortable in the hand… haven’t taken one to the knuckles yet ! Its fun to throw and binds well.
While I wont do it… seems like it would be a good one to throw some sparks! Anyone have an idea if you might wear through the rims by sparking it? They’re 2mm thick.
here’s a comparison next to the deep state
I ordered one I’ll spark mine. The titanium can be worn thru??? I thought it was like indestructible and that’s why it sparks
It will wear through eventually… just wondering how long it might take. Not gonna happen with any sort of quickness I’m sure.
